Middle School Mentor Program
The middle school mentor program allows 8th grade students to mentor 6th grade students. Each 6th grade student is assigned a mentor at the end of 5th grade, and that mentor checks in on them throughout 6th grade, making sure they are keeping up in class, helping them with organization and any other adjustments they need for middle school. 7th grade students are invited to apply to be a mentor after Thanksgiving, and then are interviewed by a selection committee. They then spend their spring semester of 7th grade training and attending "lunch bunch" with the 5th graders to develop connections with the students before they are given specific students to mentor.
